Attacks on DoD information systems and networks are coming from many sources and are becoming increasingly sophisticated. In response, the DoD needs to proactively protect and defend its information systems and networks through cyberspace defense, or CD. This course provides an overview of cyberspace defense for the DoD, including updates to cyberspace defense technologies, its role in protecting DoD systems and missions, and the increased urgency for implementation of cyberspace defense. disacndv201_03 3 When you complete this course, you will be able to identify what cyberspace defense is, what the cyberspace defense cybersecurity requirements are for DoD components, and what the role of the cybersecurity service provider, or CSP, is in protecting and defending DoD information systems and networks. There are 5 lessons in this course, starting with this Course Introduction. In Lesson 2, you will learn what cybersecurity and cyberspace defense are and how they are related. You will also learn what the DoD Information Networks, or DoDIN, and Network Operations, or NetOps, are, and the relationship between them. In Lesson 3, you will learn who provides cybersecurity services for the DoD, and the requirements these service providers must meet. In Lesson 4, you will learn what the principal cybersecurity services are and the role cybersecurity service providers play in delivering these services to DoD organizations. Finally, the Course Conclusion reviews key points from each lesson.
